Elements Of True Joy

when you have to perform

please perform like a man

punch a hole in the mile of true deep

and make an escape if you can

you’ll have to walk straight into nothing

down into the caves

underneath the water where the eyeless dwell

and jesus never saves

elements of true joy

coat books lunch and soul

are the things that keep me whole

rack fire endless pain

are all the things that i contain

eyes thighs and pleasant sighs

come to nothing when you die

i swim in rainbow worlds

and elements of true joy

cool rain  all night

then we’re gone
